He played golf as an amateur at international level before returning to England to play and study golf as a professional. The first business step into golf came when he created the first driving range in Budapest in 1994. He still manages the range today, where he also teaches as a professional. He opened the first golf shop in Hungary at the range, later expanding the number of his golf shops in the country to 5. For 7 years he was a distributor for the brands Titleist, Footjoy and Cobra, and has also represented several smaller golf companies. At present he is the team captain of the national team. He has been technical president of the Hungarian Golf Federation, and has been involved with junior golf, editing and writing for several golf magazines, and commentating for Hungarian Eurosport. He has attended several conferences such as the KPMG Golf Business Forum 2004 in Budapest and the St Andrews International Golf Investors Conference 2005, and has given lectures at numerous conferences and business events. For the last 6 years he has been an adviser for golf course developments, including feasibility studies for driving ranges, golf academies, and golf courses. This is an area where he will spend a lot of time in the future as he feels that there will be a great increase in golf developments in Hungary and the region as a whole. |
